In many cases, buying a new home can feel like a complex process.

Steps such as mortgage approvals, lot and floor plan selection, and decisions around upgrades take time and commitment.

Understanding these requirements of homebuyers, Daytona Homes has simplified its interior selections process considerably.

“There are a lot of things to think about when buying a home,” says Alphonse Pilon, president of Tacada Residential, the parent company of Daytona. “We recognize that making colour selections can be an overwhelming stage in the buying process.”

This is what inspired its True Choice program. Rather than having to choose each interior feature one by one, the builder guides customers through the process with an expertly curated predesigned set of options.

These eight preselected options, termed the Destination Collection, have been created by Daytona’s interior designers and appeal to a variety of tastes.

People who buy a home through the builder can select one of Cape Cod Coastal, Manhattan Manor, London Loft, New Nashville, Nordic Noir, Parisian Poise, Santa Fe Soul, and Vancity Vibes.

These themed packages include features such as flooring, tile, cabinets, and faucets, among others.

Buyers also have the option to customize. Each of the Destination Collections are pulled from one of three palettes named The Villa, Studio, and Terra Palettes.

Going the custom route, buyers can design their own collection, mixing and matching from each of the three palettes.

“This allows them to customize and forge their own style,” says Sandy Tang, area sales manager for Daytona in the north Calgary community of Livingston.

“Our Destination Collection provides our customers with feeling like they are taking a vacation without ever needing to leave their home,” she adds. “Our program showcases a wide range of selections such as a soft light and breezy style, urban cool industrial feelings, farmhouse, bohemian vibes or you can also choose to have modern twist with funky monochromatic patterns to name a few.”

Nordic Noir, for instance, channels trendy Scandinavian living. In this collection, buyers will find crisp whites, rich gold accents, natural wood, and matte blacks.

“This program was made to appeal to anyone and everyone,” says Tang, calling the “urban and cool” Manhattan Manor her personal favourite.

Daytona builds in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. In Alberta, the award-winning builder is active in Calgary, the greater Edmonton area, and Lethbridge.

The True Choice program is offered in the Calgary and Edmonton markets.

“It was a company position we took a couple of years ago to simplify the buying process and remove some of the worry and stress that often accompany it,” says Pilon. “It’s been very popular for us.

We want your home to be something that you truly love,” he adds. “True Choice takes the guess work out of the equation. We are definitely one of the top builders in the province for customer satisfaction. I think one of the reasons for this is what we do with True Choice, what we do with our designs.”

Tang says one of Daytona’s core values is its commitment to its customers.

“We believe in transparent communication and the importance of involving our customers through the entire home buying process from start to finish,” she adds.

This approach contributed to Daytona’s Calgary team being awarded Builder of Choice at the annual Home Owner Mark of Excellence Awards this year.

Daytona’s emphasis on creating a positive experience for its customers includes its membership with The Alberta New Home Warranty Program.

“I believe that the program provides our customers with a peace of mind when buying a brand new home,” Tang says. “Not only does the program allow for our homeowners to feel safe, happy and secure, it shows that Daytona is committed to protecting our home owners by partnering with one of Canada’s most reputable home warranty providers.”

Daytona’s relationship with the Alberta New Home Warranty Program has lasted more than 25 years.

“Their commitment to quality, value and customer service has made them a leader in the industry – providing beautiful homes throughout Western Canada,” says Lisa Tyhy, account manager at The Program. “As their warranty provider, we understand the importance of the education and expertise that Daytona has invested into their people.

“This results in a quality home that stands the test of time.”

Community enrichment is another focus for the builder.

“We believe that it is our responsibility to give back to the communities that we build in and better the lives of others through continued support of local charities and community organizations such as Alberta Children’s Hospital Radiothon that we try to be a part of every year,” says Tang.

Beyond financial contributions to various meaningful causes, Pilon says he’s proud of the fact that Daytona rolls up its sleeves and puts a substantial number of volunteer hours in, as well.

Pilon adds, “We also have our Daytona Cares Day which is a very special day where the entire team gets together and volunteers their time, skills and hearts to a specific charitable and community program.”
