The Alberta New Home Warranty Program’s Board provides independent oversight and strategic guidance. Its Directors combine homebuilding, insurance, financial, actuarial and organizational leadership experience—helping ensure ANHWP remains stable, responsive and focused on Builder Members and homeowners.
Meet our Board of Directors
A third-generation builder and developer, Paul has spent his life immersed in homebuilding and land development. His family’s roots in Alberta’s development industry date back to the late 1970s, reflecting a legacy in the province that now extends nearly 50 years. As President & CEO of Averton, Paul has led the company’s operations since 2005, building on that legacy through award-winning design and innovation in homebuilding and community development across Alberta and Ontario.
Paul’s connection to ANHWP began when Averton became a Builder Member in 2005, providing an important connection to Alberta’s homebuilding industry and aligning with the company’s longstanding commitment to quality. Today, Paul brings that firsthand Member experience and practical industry knowledge to his role as Chair of ANHWP’s Board of Directors. He was named a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta in 2019 and also holds the ICD.D designation, bringing additional financial and governance expertise to the Board.
Paul has also contributed more than a decade of volunteer Board service to the industry through CHBA Edmonton, UDI Edmonton and BILD Edmonton Metro, where he currently serves as Chair. His collaborative approach and understanding of the challenges facing builders support the Board as it oversees ANHWP’s continued evolution and commitment to both builders and homeowners.

Howard Tse is a corporate director and senior executive with over 25 years of leadership experience in the residential housing sector. He currently serves as President of Cedarglen Homes and is a member of the executive leadership team at Anthem House Building, with responsibility for organizational performance, strategy execution, and long-term growth within a complex operating environment.
Howard has served on the Board of the Alberta New Home Warranty Program since 2019 and served as Chair from 2024 to 2026. As Past Chair, he continues to contribute to the Board’s governance oversight, bringing strategic perspective on risk management, industry practices, and the stewardship of Alberta’s new home warranty framework.
His experience provides insight into builder practices, construction performance, and customer outcomes, supporting informed oversight of warranty-related risks and industry standards.
Peter brings more than 40 years of experience in business development, leadership and general management within the property and casualty insurance and insurable risk sectors.
Throughout his career, Peter has developed extensive expertise in senior client relations and insurance industry leadership, including longstanding relationships with many of Canada’s leading insurers. His experience provides the Board with valuable perspective on insurance, risk and stakeholder relationships.
Peter holds a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University.

Kirk is a senior executive and actuary with extensive leadership and consulting experience spanning operations, marketing, actuarial services, human resources and information technology.
Throughout his career, he has focused on translating customer and employee strategies into practical business plans and measurable results. His experience includes organizational leadership, strategic planning and market analysis, program management, organizational design, negotiation and change management.
Kirk brings a collaborative and customer-focused perspective to the Board, along with broad experience in business transformation, problem-solving and organizational leadership.

Manoj is a Chartered Accountant, bringing more than 20 years of finance and accounting experience to our Board, including more than 16 years in senior leadership roles within Alberta’s homebuilding, development and related industries. He currently chairs ANHWP’s Risk & Audit Committee.
Serving as Chief Financial Officer of ThirdGen Timber Group, Manoj overseeing finance across True North Log & Timber Homes, Canadian Timberframes and Legacy North Ltd. His expertise spans financial strategy, accounting, risk management, internal controls and multi-entity governance.
Previously, Manoj served as Chief Financial Officer of Hopewell Residential and, prior to that, as the company’s Vice President & Corporate Controller. He was also a Senior Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), providing audit and assurance services to a diverse portfolio of public and private clients across multuple industries. Throughout his career, he has focused on strengthening financial governance, improving operational efficiency and aligning financial strategy with sustainable organizational growth.

Chris Richer is Senior Vice President, Alberta Homes for Brookfield Residential, where he leads the company’s single-family and multi-family housing operations across Alberta. He is responsible for overall business performance, including strategic planning, operations, sales, marketing, customer experience, and financial results.
With more than 20 years of executive leadership experience spanning residential construction, real estate, and aviation, Chris brings a broad perspective on growth, operational excellence, and organizational leadership. Prior to joining Brookfield Residential through the acquisition of ALBI Homes, he served as Senior Vice President of Operations at ALBI Homes and previously as President of AirSprint, Canada’s largest fractional private aircraft operator.
Chris is actively involved in advancing the residential construction industry and currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for BILD Calgary Region and as a Director of Alberta New Home Warranty Program.
He holds a Diploma in Architectural Technology from SAIT and an MBA from the University of Calgary. Having started his career as a framer, designer, and site superintendent, Chris maintains a deep appreciation for every stage of the homebuilding process and is a strong advocate for innovation, technology, and improving housing outcomes for Canadians.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and spending time with his wife Samantha and their children.
As Managing Partner of Amrop Rosin Calgary, Ranju leads the management of the office as well as executive searches with an expertise in C-Suite and for-profit Board searches. She leads executive searches for clients across a wide range of sectors, primarily being oil and gas, power, renewables, legal, land development, commercial real estate, and professional services.
Ranju’s Board involvement includes her current role as Chair for the Calgary Convention Centre Authority, Director for the Alberta New Home Warranty Board, and past Chair of the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association Board. She was honored to be awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Alberta) in 2022 and acquired her ICD.D designation in 2023 from the University of Toronto Rotman School of Business.
Ranju joined the firm in 2009 with a 16-year career in environmental sciences. Previously, she was the Senior Vice President, Corporate Services for an organization with remediation and reclamation services and teams across Western Canada.
Ranju acquired her Bachelor of Science and Graduate degree in Environmental Toxicology from Simon Fraser University and enjoys international travel as well as spending time outdoors.

Andrew graduated from the University of Regina in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree with a combined major in Mathematics and Computer Science. In 2016 Andrew convocated from the Executive MBA program at the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business at the University of Regina.
Andrew joined SGI CANADA as Vice President of Commercial Lines in 2016, leading the Underwriting and Product Management teams nationally, and engaging with brokers across the country. This role bridged corporate and operational functions, blending strategy with execution. He moved into the position of Saskatchewan Regional Vice President in 2019, concentrating on operations and broadening his areas of responsibility into the Personal Lines and Claims divisions, as well as Saskatchewan Broker Partnerships. He stepped into his current leadership role as EVP and COO on June 1, 2021. He earned his ICD.D for Board Directors in 2025.
Prior to joining SGI, Andrew spent 12 years with GMS Insurance, where he took on leadership roles in underwriting, product development, and risk analysis. He served as a participating member of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association and a Committee Member of various working groups with the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators. Andrew earned an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business at the University of Regina, as well as undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science.
Since joining SGI CANADA, Andrew has been focused on efficient and profitable growth, innovation, expanding the use of technology, and developing strong teams and leaders who can confidently face the challenges of our ever-evolving industry. Andrew believes technology, the reinvention of process and service, and the changes in the broker network present new opportunities for the future, and is excited to oversee the innovations SGI CANADA has planned, while staying true to our company’s roots of strong customer and broker service.
Andrew and his family, live in Regina, Sask. They love the outdoors, whether relaxing on the beach at Saskatchewan’s Diefenbaker Lake or on a hot holiday. He’s also an avid rock-and-roll fan, with a big collection of (dusty) musical instruments at home!

Ian brings more than 35 years of banking and financial services experience spanning corporate finance, investment banking, global risk management and capital markets. He began his career in the United Kingdom with National Westminster Bank before moving to Canada, where he held senior roles with Continental Bank of Canada and Royal Bank of Canada.
Ian later served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Financial Services with ATB Financial and as a Director of AltaCorp Capital, now ATB Capital Markets. His extensive financial sector experience brings valuable perspective in corporate finance, risk and governance to ANHWP’s Board.
Ian has served as Chair and Director of a number of public and private organizations and is currently Chairman of the Canadian Global Affairs Institute. He is also Past Chairman of Calgary Economic Development’s Financial Services Advisory Committee. Ian holds the ICD.D designation, is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (UK), and is a graduate of the Queen’s Executive Program.
