Time to tidy up your new home! Use these tips as a starting point this August!
Check sealants & caulking:
With cleaning, and the natural expansion and contraction of the materials bonded with the sealant, the sealant may crack or separate from the joint. Sealant joins should be repaired immediately if deteriorating.
Clean your dishwasher:
Regular maintenance to your dishwasher will ensure it cleans your dishes properly, eliminates odours, and prevents it from backing up and flooding.
A 50/50 mix of vinegar and water can be used to scrub the inside and seal around the door. Running a cycle with baking soda sprinkled inside will help to loosen caked on food. Remove the filter and clean it in the sink along with the rack components!
Reshine your windows:
A fresh wash of your windows will make them clean and clear. Water, vinegar and a few drops of dish soap will work as a cleaner with a sponge. Wash off the solution with water and squeegee to remove the excess. Use a microfiber cloth to finish and ensure there are no streaks!
Bonus tip: No microfiber cloth? Using a newspaper will work just as well to help get those streaks out!
Monthly duties:
