Will you be ready for the changes to Alberta’s Builders’ Lien Act, soon to be known as the Prompt Payment and Construction Lien Act?

Bill 37 is designed to protect jobs in the construction industry by ensuring contractors and subcontractors are paid on time. The bill’s key changes surround specific payment timelines, extended lien timelines, access to payment information, new holdback rules, and so much more. But what does that mean for you?

Join us Wednesday, June 22 as we welcome Rolland Lequier, Barrister and Solicitor at Elite Counsel.

Listen to Rolland as he will guide us through:

  • What is the legislation?
  • Who does it affect?
  • What are the implications?
  • Relevant information that will impact your business
  • Scenarios of which you should be aware
  • And more…

Rolland C Lequier, a Barrister and Solicitor, has a passion for helping his clients and his community. Over the course of 25 years, Rolland’s practice has evolved to offer a suite of services designed to protect families, provide succession planning and advance philanthropic goals. At a time when specialization is a defining quality of the legal profession, Rolland has devoted his career to designing strong estate plans that survive multiple generations. The grounding principle at Elite is to provide clients with advice that helps make their lives better.

Articling with a large, Calgary law firm in 1994, Rolland was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1995. He subsequently moved to a smaller, corporate and commercial-based law firm where he began developing his practice in the areas of estate planning, real estate, family and corporate law, becoming a partner just 3 years later. In 2016, Rolland established his own, boutique-style, estate planning law firm: Elite Counsel. Rolland takes a holistic approach to planning, working with your existing professionals to create an efficient, results-based plan that is individually tailored to meet each family’s unique challenges.

Rolland was an instrumental factor in the launching of Hearts & Hammers, a charity founded to provide renovations for Calgarians in need with mobility challenges. They are dedicated to undertaking at least one major home renovation each year, as well as supporting smaller community efforts.

This event is for ANHWP Builder Members, and their employees only.
